Yewa Traditional Rulers extol Abiodun’s cargo airport initiative

A total number of 45 traditional rulers out of 56 Yewa Traditional Council of Obas, in the Western Senatorial District of Ogun State, have described the Agro Cargo Airport being constructed by Prince Dapo Abiodun-adminustration as a catalyst for socio-economic transformation of the State.

The traditional rulers under the aegis of the Trusted Royal Fathers in Yewa region, who spoke through Eleselu of Iselu, Oba Adeyemi Akintunde at Abepa of Joga Orile’s palace, said, the project when completed would promote trade and commerce and create employment for the citizens of the State.

Oba Akintunde also commended road constructions in Yewa region as tremendous, saying the region never witnessed it good like this from the past administrations, appealing to the state government to site a big capital project in Yewa area like the airport in the East and many of its kind in the central part of the state so as to equate the balance across regions of the State.

In his commendation, Chairman of the group, the Abepa of Joga Orile, Oba Adeyemi Adekeye, the Secretary, the Onigbedi of Igbeji, Oba Sunday Adelakun as well as Obaladi of Afon, Oba Abdulateef Babade lauded Governor Abiodun on the road constructions in Yewa, requesting for more of such mega projects in Yewaland, to boost the fortune of the region.

Responding, the Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun thanked the monarchs for their unflinching support since the inception of his administration in the past three and half years, promising that his administration would give each of the 20 Local Government Area one grader coupled with a roller to boost the grading of rural roads, thereby making life meaningful for grassroots dwellers.

The Governor, who agreed that the axis was due for capital project for equality in the state, pledged that the Royal Fathers deserved honour and they would be duly accorded, disclosing that, his administration will partner a foreign firm in the local production of cotton in the State.

Highlight of the meeting was royal support and vote of confidence on the present administration till 2027, so that a Yewa man can be supported for the sit of governorship
