Yewa South LG boss promises provision of quality, affordable healthcare

The Chairman of the Yewa South Local Government in Ogun State, Hon. Lateef Salami has promised to provide quality and affordable healthcare for the citizens and good people of the Local Government.

Hon. Salami who made the promise while speaking with newsmen in his Ilaro office on the forth coming distribution of insecticide treated nets by the State Government affirmed that his administration would support the Gov. Dapo Abiodun led Government in the state to deliver accessible, affordable and qualitative healthcare for indigenes and residents of the Local Government.

He added that his administration was committed to improving access to good healthcare delivery via support to primary healthcare centres across the council area.

I want to assure our people that my administration will give necessary support to the State Government towards the provision of accessible, affordable and qualitative healthcare delivery across Yewa South Local Government.

“Health is wealth, so we will at all time do the needful to ensure that citizens and people across our Local Government area have access to good medical care through provision of the necessary medical equipments and upgrading of our health centres”, Hon. Salami posited.

On the forth coming distribution of insecticide treated mosquito nets, the Council Boss cited Malaria as a public challenge.

“Malaria is still a public health challenge in Nigeria. Its a seriously challenge confronting the health care needs of women and children in our communities, especially at the grassroots.

The net distribution is expected to increase awareness of communities on the appropriate knowledge, attitude and skills in preventing malaria caused by mosquito bites. This will further improve the health of mothers and children by reducing morbidity and mortality across our communities.”

The Chairman enjoined people in the area to take advantage of the free distribution of treated mosquito net to protect themselves against malaria through effective usage of the net pointing that the net distribution would be free and should not be harboured by anybody.

Salami who used the opportunity to implored citizens of the area to adhere to rules guiding the protection against COVID’19 warned against Corona virus.

“I want use this opportunity to tell our people that corona virus is still much around. We should avoid going to crowded gatherings and always obey the rules guiding the protection and spread of the virus”.
