Yewa North LGA distributes Food Palliative to 2,000 vulnerables

Yewa North Local Government Area of the State has successfully distributed its food palliative to identify 2,008 vulnerable from the 251 polling units towards improving their living conditions due to the effect of fuel subsidy removal across the council area.

The exercise was in accordance with President Ahmed Tinubu’s directive with the aim of improving the living conditions of vulnerable people in the Council area.

Speaking with newsmen during the distribution, the State representative, former House of Assembly member, representing Ketu State Constituency, Hon Job Akinitan, explained that the distribution of the package to the households was carried out in the Council headquarters, having in attendance the representatives of the 251 polling units across the 11 wards of the Local Government.

He added that the committee members had earlier carried out a survey and mapping exercise through ward distribution committee members to identify the households vulnerable across the polling units.

In her remark, the State Iyaloja General, and a member of the State representative, Alhaja Yemisi Abbas, said the distribution of palliative to the vulnerable was successful as the house-to-house method adopted paid off after other methods of reaching out to the identified beneficiaries seemed challenging.

Earlier, in his remarks, the Council Chairman, Hon Gabriel Ogunyomi, urged the committee members to ensure a smooth and hitch-free distribution exercise, advising them to be transparent in the discharge of their obligations

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the trio of Sidikat Oke, Olayemi Idowu, and Esther Moses appreciated the contribution of the Federal government for providing the package, saying the gesture was timely.
