Senator Adeola recommends skill acquisition as panacea to unemployment.

Acquisition of requisite skills, training and retraining are ways to solve the issue of unemployment among Nigeria youths.

These were the words of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi in his opening remark read on his behalf by Chief Kayode Odunaro at the opening session of a 4 Days Training in modern methods of electrical installation and maintenance by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) held at Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro, Ogun West

The training which was facilitated for Ogun State youths by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi was described by the lawmaker as one of the veritable wats of addressing the economic challenges of Nigeria through the creation of gainful employment.

According to the Lagos West Senator who is also the the APC Ogun West Senate candidate for the 2023 general elections, not all Nigerian citizens can be engaged in white collar jobs, the nation’s population and her growing economy are such that there is always steady demand for all kinds of skills making the training a way to broaden the skill base of youths in Ogun State.

The lawmaker commended President Mohammadu Buhari for his vision to creating gainful employment for 100 million Nigerians which is still on course and had achieved great milestone.

The Senator whose office had facilitated various skills acquisition training and empowerment with over 10,000 beneficiaries across Lagos and Ogun States said the presidential initiative through NASENI is capable of creating a pool of skilled professionals that would not only be gainfully employed, they will have the potentials to equally generate employments.

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi applauded the Executive Vice Chairman Chief Executive of NASENI, Engr. Professor Muhammed Haruna for deeming it fit to ensure Ogun State is one of the early beneficiaries of this initiative and for considering Ilaro, Ogun West as the host.

He appealed to participants to see the training and the empowerment attached as a rare opportunity to uplift their lives and to play critical role in the national economy.

In his address, the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Baba Dauda, the Coordinating Finance Director of NASENI, he extended appreciation to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi for his unflinching support that saw the return of NASENI to the presidency after many years of wilderness journey in ministries bureaucracy. This he said the NASENI will always be grateful for.

He described the training as a direct outcome of the efforts of Senator Adeola and others like him at the National Assembly for the generality of Nigerians and it is the turn of youths in Ogun State to benefit.

The royal father of the day, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland in his goodwill message congratulated the participants drawn across Ogun State for their luck which made them to be considered for the training.

The royal father advised the trainees not to consider selling the tools they would receive adding that it should be deployed for the purpose it was given for.

Other dignitaries at the event were Alhaja Salmot Badru, former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi, former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Engr. Yinka Akintomide, the Chairman of the Occasion.
