Video: Okada riders protest in Ogun over multiple ticketing, extortion

Irked by what they described as extortion and multiple ticketing, hundreds of motorcylists popularly known as okada riders took to the streets of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital to register their displeasure over the situation.

The angry protesters who were armed with placards bearing varied inscriptions stormed the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, at Iwe-Iroyin, Abeokuta, protested that their unions are planning to introduce another ticket in addition to the existing ones, which, they said it’s unaffordable.

They also alleged that the state government is also set to make compulsory wearing of jackets, an exercise they described as ridiculous.
