Ogun Housing Commissioner, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi wins Commissioner of the Year Award

The Ogun State Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi FCA, has been unveiled as the Commissioner of the Year by the Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ Ogun State Council.

The award, according to NUJ Ogun State Council was in recognition of Jagunmolu Omoniyi’s contributions to the development of Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole in bridging the housing deficit gap as Commissioner for Housing in the Prince Dapo Abiodun CON led government of Ogun State.

Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi FCA who is serving a second term in office as Commissioner for Housing was unveiled as the Commissioner of the Year during the celebration of one year in office of the Comrade Wale Olanrewaju led executives of the Ogun State Council of the NUJ, at the Iwe Iroyin House Secretariat of the NUJ, Oke Ilewo, AbeokutaJagunmolu Akande Omoniyi was appointed as Special Adviser on Housing by Prince Dapo Abiodun CON on the 12th, July 2019 and also appointed as Member, Board of Directors of the Ogun State government owned Gateway Mortgage Bank in November of the same year. He was named as Honourable Commissioner for Housing on January of the same year.

The Housing Ministry he led delivered on the promise of Prince Dapo Abiodun led government in the area of affordable housing for the good people of Ogun State, multiplying the existing low cost housing estates across Ogun State.

Responding, he appreciated the NUJ on behalf of the entire Prince Dapo Abiodun led government team for his recognition as the Commissioner of the Year. The Commissioner of the Year said the only way to pay the Ogun State Council of the NUJ back is for the government to continue to do things that will make the lives of Ogun State people better with the ISEYA agenda.

Jagunmolu Akande described his team as the new face of housing development in Nigeria stressing that the recognition by the NUJ is an addition to the decoration of Prince Dapo Abiodun for the award of Best State in Housing Development won by Ogun State back to back among other awards.
