The high level political forum (HLPF) and the national volunteering review (NVR) on sustainable development goals is underway at the united nations quarters New York

Ogun State is being represented by a delegation from the AJOSE FOUNDATION led by the wife of the Ogun State governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun and other members of the civil society coalition on sustainable development.

Contributing to discussion after a presentation from the team lead from Sao Tome and Principe, the Ogun State first lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between international development partners, state actors, the academia and civil society organisations to combat climate change.

According to her, climate change is a threat to global development leading to deforestation, drought, soil degradation and erosion among others thereby affecting the livelihood of the people.

She advocated more funding support for developing countries as well as capacity building to improve the quality of life of the people.
