Oba Olugbenle receives Otegbeye, says  God alone determines who becomes Governor2
The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, the Agunloye IV while receiving the the Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Barrister Olubiyi Otegbeye, has urged the candidate and his entourage to set their aspirations before God.
A statement by the media consultant to the Paramount Ruler, Prince ‘Femi Dokunmu disclosed that Barr Olubiyi Otegbeye was received warmly by the erudite monarch with an admonition that the Ilaro born ADC governorship candidate should rely on God for total support.
“It is only God that crowns kings and determines who gets one political position or the other. This is beyond the mere wishes or power of any human being or any group of people’, he said, adding in Yoruba, ‘A se eyi to wu ni Olorun. Bo si se wun Oluwa lo n se ola e”.
“As a king who believes in God and whose choice as king was made possible by God, I can only wish all the candidates well and leave God, through the electorate, to determine who becomes their Governor”, Oba Olugbenle said.
In response to the speech of Barrister Biyi Otegbeye and the Apex Leader of the Party, Chief Soji Olusesi, that they have come to seek the prayers and blessing of Kabiyesi, Oba Olugbenle prayed and committed them to the protection of God Almighty and wished them well as they embark on their campaigns.

He charged them to conduct their campaigns peacefully and avoid acts that could lead to violence and bloodbath in any part of Yewaland or Ogun State, noting that the recent crisis in Agosasa over who should become the king of the town had been politicized and made to become unduly violent.

Oba Olugbenle also advised Barrister Otegbeye to be wary of some of his promoters who say or publish statements which have attempted to disrespect or denigrate the obaship institution and thereby created avoidable gaps between him and the Obas in Yewaland.
Earlier in his speech, the ADC governorship candidate had dissociated himself from recent conducts of some of his promoters heaping insults at the Olu of Ilaro and other Obas for expressing their opinions on the 2023 governorship elections in Ogun State, assuring Oba Olugbenle that he holds him in high esteem and therefore will not do anything to bring him and other Obas to disrepute.
In the entourage of the ADC governorship candidate are some leaders of the party in Ogun State, which include Chief Soji Olusesi, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, Engr Yinka Akintomide, Dr Dele Ogunsiji, Hon Muyiwa Oladipo, Hon. Kunle Elegbede, Chief Demola Fadayiro, Hon Wole Elegbede, among others.
