Akinlade won convincingly in 2019, present administration must be removed – Amosun

Former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for the first time disclosed that the 2019 Governorship election was rigged in favour of the incumbent Governor, saying that comes 2023, the present administration must be removed.

Senator Amosun made the statement moment after he received an Award of Excellence from the Abeokuta Club at the grand finale of the Club’s 50th anniversary held at its Secretariat on Saturday, 5th August.

“At that election in 2019, we won convincingly. Chief Osoba is here. Some people have come to apologize, all of them. I can be mentioning names but I have moved on.

“Just wait, very soon you will hear where we are going next. Of course, clearly you know my stand, and my stand is my stand.

I am not supporting this administration, it must be removed”.

RazorTimes recalls that Senator Amosun as an APC governor in 2019, worked against the party during the Governorship election by supporting his candidate, Hon Adekunle AbdulKabir Akinlade of APM who contested against Governor Dapo Abiodun of the ruling party.

The Governor’s stand was glaring during the Presidential campaign visit to Ogun State when President Muhammadu Buhari narrowly escaped being lynched at the MKO Abiola stadium.

As it stands, the then candidate of Senator Amosun, Hon Akinlade, presently is the Deputy Governorship candidate in PDP camp while there is a legal and technical battle going on in support of the former governor’s newly alleged candidate in the person of Barr Olubiyi Otegbeye of APC.

So, the people of Ogun State cannot wait to know where Senator Amosun will be “going next”.
