Ibeju Lekki: Ogunbamowo becomes Mogbon-Oga’s Baale

The ancient town of Mogbon Oga in Ibeju Lekki of Lagos State has been agog with celebration following the selection of OTUNBA BABATUNDE OLABODE OGUNBAMOWO as the Baale of the town.

As news of the approval of the new Baale of Magbon Oga spread across the town on Thursday, August 5, 2021, indigenes and residents of the Kingdom trooped to the streets rejoicing that indeed the best candidate emerged as the community ruler of Magbon.

The new Baale boasts of a wealth of experience in public service spanning over two decades; and the people of the kingdom are unanimous in their belief that his reign will usher peace and development to the town.

Otunba Babatunde Olabode Ogunbamowo from ERUOBODO Ruling House, emerged victorious during the selection process conducted by the traditional chiefs under the strict supervision of officials of community leaders led by Pa Ogunbanjo.

The new Olu-Magbon who has accepted his selection, praised the good people of Magbon and members of his family for affirming the popular choice of Magbons.

While thanking the chief and kingmakers, OTUNBA OLABODE OGUNBAMOWO called on indigenes and residents of Magbon Oga and especially those who slogged out the referred stool with him to join hands with him towards building Magbon-Oga Kingdom.

“I want my dear brothers that vied this stool with me to know that we are all winners as my Baaleship will be an inclusive administration”.

The custodians of the town’s customs and tradition have indicated that the new Baale will go into seclusion in the coming days in line with the town’s processes of appointing a new Baale and as expected.
